How does it work?

Kybella is a nonsurgical and noninvasive way to remove fat that causes the double chin. Deoxycholic acid, Kybella’s active ingredient, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fats. Deoxycholic acid works by destroying fat cells where it is injected into the body. With the help of Kybella, a considerable amount of fat can disappear from your chin. You can have a slimmer, healthier, more youthful appearance.

How many treatments are needed?

Kybella treatments are usually done in 2-3 sessions, however, this varies from patient to patient.

How long does Kybella last?

Once destroyed, the fat does not come back. After your desired result is achieved, retreatment with Kybella is not needed.

Is there any downtime?

There will be minimal downtime with Kybella treatments which will consists of some possible temporary redness, bruising, and swelling in the chin area. The entire procedure takes less than 15 minutes and patient may return to normal activity next day.

• Schedule your appointment with plenty of time before a major event as the swelling after this treatment may take up to 2 weeks to resolve
• Inform our team if you have any history with difficulty swallowing, known allergies, or have ever had an anaphylactic reaction
• You may not get this treatment if you are pregnant or nursing
• Avoid medications with anti-inflammatories properties such as ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E and D, and fish oils 
• Wash your face and neck area the day of your procedure and do not apply anything to the face

• Bruising, swelling, tenderness, aching, numbness and tingling are all normal occurrences post treatment
• Ice the area carefully. Make sure to keep a cloth barrier between your face and the ice pack. You may use this cool compress for the first 24-48 hours after treatment 
• Avoid strenuous activity for the first few days after treatment
• Sleep with your head elevated for the first 1-6 nights to avoid additional swelling
• Avoid massaging the area 
• Next treatment will be in 4 weeks. It may take 4-6 treatments to receive optimal results
