Dermaplane

Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (aka peach fuzz).  Dermaplaning is a wonderful exfoliation treatment for someone that has sensitive skin. It also prepares the skin for other treatments such as a Hydrafacial or some of our laser facials.

Benefits of dermaplaning include:

  • Smoother skin: Dermaplaning removes rough and dead skin, leaving you with a smoother complexion and a more even base for applying makeup.

  • Better absorption: Dermaplaning allows skincare products to penetrate more deeply into the skin, making your skincare products more effective.

  • Brighter skin: Dermaplaning helps minimize the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation.

  • Hair removal: Dermaplaning temporarily removes fine facial hair (AKA vellus hair or “peach fuzz”), which can trap dirt and oil.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone with sensitive skin is a great candidate for Dermaplaning. Also, as an add on in preparation for a Hydrafacial or some of our laser facials.  It is a great all around treatment that can be performed year round with no downtime for smoother, more glowing skin.

Dermaplanning is performed by a medically trained professional and is highly customized to the areas and depth of exfoliation. Patients with sensitive skin can find chemical peels and other types of exfoliation too uncomfortable, so a Dermaplane is a great way to remove dull dry skin and reveal a new smooth youthful glow.

Patients will see visible skin improvement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. This procedure can be done approximately once a month, which coincides with a normal skin cycle of 30 days.

Dermaplaning treatments are fast and effective, taking as little as 30 minutes to deliver an immediate smoothness and glow. The results are pain-free with no downtime.
