Who is a candidate for Fire & Ice Facial?

1. Those with Dull or Uneven Skin Tone
2. People with Fine Lines or Wrinkles
3. Individuals with Congested or Acne-Prone Skin
4. Those Seeking a Quick, No-Downtime Facial
5. People with Sensitive Skin (in some cases)
6. Those Preparing for an Event
7. People with Sun Damage or Hyperpigmentation

Not Ideal For:

• Those with active, severe acne or very sensitive skin may want to consult with a skincare professional before trying this treatment.
How long does this treatment take? Is there any downtime?

The iS Clinical Fire and Ice Facial typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. It’s a relatively quick treatment, which is one of the reasons it’s so popular for those who want to fit a facial into a busy schedule.

Downtime:
•  Minimal to No Downtime: The Fire and Ice Facial is known for having little to no downtime. Most people can return to their regular activities immediately after the treatment.

•  Possible Redness: Some individuals may experience mild redness or a slight tingling sensation during or after the treatment, but this usually fades within an hour or so. This is normal and is a sign that the exfoliation and treatment are working.
1. Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure
•  1-2 weeks before treatment, try to avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning beds. Sunburned or irritated skin can be more sensitive to the active ingredients. If you must be in the sun, be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily to protect your skin.
2. Discontinue Use of Retinoids or Retinol
•  If you’re using products that contain retinoids or retinol, it’s recommended to stop using them 3-5 days before the treatment. These ingredients can increase your skin’s sensitivity and could cause irritation when combined with the exfoliating nature of the Fire and Ice Facial.
3. Avoid Waxing or Hair Removal
•  Avoid waxing, tweezing, or other hair removal treatments for at least 3-5 days before the facial, especially if you plan to have the facial performed on areas with hair (like the upper lip). This helps reduce the risk of irritation.
4. Inform Your Aesthetician of Any Skin Conditions
•  Let your aesthetician know if you have any specific skin concerns such as eczema, rosacea, or active acne, as they may need to adjust the treatment to your skin’s needs.
5. Avoid Other Exfoliating Treatments
•  For at least 1 week before the Fire and Ice Facial, avoid other exfoliating treatments, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or strong exfoliating scrubs. Combining these treatments can cause excessive irritation.
6. Hydrate Your Skin
•  Ensure your skin is well-hydrated prior to the facial. Drink plenty of water and use a hydrating moisturizer in the days leading up to your appointment to help prepare your skin.
7. No Botox or Fillers Right Before Treatment
•  If you’ve recently had Botox, fillers, or other injectables, it’s generally recommended to wait at least 2 weeks before having the Fire and Ice Facial to avoid potential irritation.
8. No Active Skin Issues
•  If you have active breakouts, open wounds, or irritated skin, it’s better to wait until these areas are healed before undergoing the facial. While mild acne can typically be treated, active lesions or irritated skin can be aggravated by the facial.
1. Avoid Sun Exposure
•  For at least 24 to 48 hours after the facial, avoid direct sun exposure. Your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays due to the exfoliation, and you may be more prone to sunburn.
•. Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) every day, even if you’re indoors. This helps protect your skin and maintain your results.
2. No Tanning or Tanning Beds
•  After the treatment, you should avoid tanning beds for at least 1 week to prevent irritation and damage to your skin.
3. Avoid Harsh Skincare Products
•  For the first 24-48 hours, avoid products with retinol, AHA, BHA, or other exfoliants, as your skin might be sensitive.
•  Stick to gentle, hydrating products and avoid using harsh cleansers or scrubs that could irritate the freshly exfoliated skin.
4. Hydrate Your Skin
•. Keep your skin hydrated by using a moisturizer that’s appropriate for your skin type. This will help calm any potential irritation and support the skin’s natural healing process.
•. Drinking plenty of water will also help maintain hydration from the inside out.
5. Avoid Heat and Sweating
•. For 24 hours, avoid activities that can cause excessive sweating or heat, like intense exercise, hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms. This reduces the risk of irritation or inflammation.
•. Also, avoid swimming in chlorinated pools for a few days after the treatment.
6. Avoid Touching Your Face
•  After the treatment, try to avoid touching your face to prevent transferring dirt or bacteria that could cause breakouts or irritation.
7. No Makeup Immediately
•  It’s recommended to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment. If you must wear makeup, choose non-comedogenic and gentle products to prevent irritation.
8. Stay Away from Other Treatments
•  Avoid any other facial treatments or chemical peels for at least 1-2 weeks after your Fire and Ice Facial to avoid over-exfoliation or irritation.
9. Watch for Unusual Reactions
•  Though rare, if you notice any unusual reactions such as extreme redness, swelling, or breakouts, contact your skincare provider or aesthetician for advice
